The first step of the process for me was to gauge the client's style preference, I came up with two contrasting style aesthetics pertaining to the "urban" feel of a brand. In the end, my client chose to stick with the second option: Hip Hop Urban Grunge.
For the chosen moodboard, I used a variety of grunge-styled typography examples to inspire myself. One of the most challenging aspects of this project was creating a streetwear logo that spoke to the style of the client but also stood out from the sea of already-existing urban grunge trends.
The logo variations for the streetwear brand. My client had asked me to incorporate an urban grunge feel to the design as well as a crown icon to compliment his name.
For these concept sketches I wanted to mainly play around with typography style since my client wanted his name incorporated into the streetwear brand while also having it match the vibe and feel of his products.
So I experimented with a variety of different bubble-letter, grunge styled type to represent graffiti. The challenge, however, was to make it feel unique to the client.
